From June 5 until July 3, The Poetry Center of Chicago will have 50 broadside posters of poetry from the Hands on Stanzas program installed in EL stations across the city. Support from Chase is helping program coordination.
Twenty five young poets from the following Chicago Public Schools will be featured: Arai, Burbank. Burroughs, Castellanos, Chavez, Ebinger, Clay, Clinton, Faraday, Galileo, Hay, Addams, Jordan, Moos, Peirce, Prescott, Rogers, School of Entrepeneurship at South Shore Campus, Shields, Smyser, Solomon, Tarkington, Trumbull and Walter Payton.
In celebration of the 25 works selected for ELevated Verse, schools asked their students to read and respond to the winning poems with images. Please click on the "Elevated Verse artwork" link to the right to view those illustrations.
